And bear in mind all of this was a personal decision/choice. No one forced these folks into debt.
Now, how many more young people would be able to get government GRANTS for colleges if the ones that voluntarily entered into a loan paid back what they owed? The ones that are now crying about not being able to pay back their loans for debts they incurred thru selfishness, are again taxing the government's budget making it harder for future kids to go to school.
I do not support giving the entitled a free lunch and taking away the funds the government needs to then assist truly under privileged/impoverished future young folks.
And last: Just maybe if colleges and state universities like UL and UK didn't think profit was the primary reason for their existence, then just maybe tuition would be lower and this mess would have not been created. Since those schools have been sucking up government grant money for decades, it’s time for the schools to forgive and repay some student debt, not all of us tax payers.
