    Thumbs down Rubber eating Vultures

Made it to the big Taylorsville Lake today. Fished around Possum Ridge area. The fishing was really slow. Water temperature 51 through 56 degrees. Water color was murky, Threw buzzbait, spinnerbait, crankbaits, and a shakey. Did manage to get a few bites on the shakey. We got back to the vehicles at Possum Ridge and noticed that vultures had eaten the rubber from the wipers, door seals, and sun roof rubber seal. I've been to Taylorsville many times and this is a first issue of this. If your going to be launching from that area, this is something you want to keep in mind.

We have that problem here at work. They eat the silicone that we use to seal the covers on our conveyor. The guy that owns the marina next door to work had a camper set up for weekends & his family & the vulters ate all the rubber off of the roof of it. He was not happy....

We spoke with the gentleman at the office at the top of the hill. He stated they are aware of the issue, but there isn't anything they can do about the problem. Seems these birds are protected in that area. He also stated the problem is a lot worse in the spring of the year. I did a little research and the birds really enjoy the rubbers seals around moon roofs.

    Findingem

Did you get a quote on the damages? I'm sure this is expensive let alone all the trouble to get it repaired. I have never heard of such a thing and most lakes have an abundance of vultures.

I have never hear of them doing that, ***** about your ride.

We fished there Thursday the 11th and put in at Possum Ridge, we fished from there hit some pockets and creeks and eventually made the run up by Van Buren. Fished from daylight to dark and threw everything but the kitchen sink for two short fish.
