Was there last thursday, it looked great. Water was getting close to pool. Fishin on the other hand was not so good. Hopefully they start to hold it soon. They have been draining 4 inches a day. Good luck and give us a report..

Caught around 200 crappies yesterday and close to 100 the day before. Water is still high but clear. Most were on the small side, lots of 7 to 9 inchers and just a few over 10. Caught them anywhere from 2' to 10'.

Wow! 200 crappie. How long did it take you to catch that many?

Three to four hours. All caught on jigs tipped with crappie nibbles. Black and Chartruese. Had two poles set up, one with bobber and one without. Used a double jig on the tightline rod.

Not sure why but in Early May those little 4" to 6" crappie are vicious and will hit anything that looks like a small minnow. Crappie jigs 1/16 oz to 1/32 oz with a crappie nibble make it easy to catch 100 of those things in a few hours time.

Even my 78 year old mother caught them when I took her fishing with me one time in May 2003.

A month earlier I saw another guy catching some nice 1 lb to 2 lb white crappie in the same area.

The dogwoods are just now starting to drop their flowers. I thought they would bloom early this year but they really didn't bloom until the last of April and the First week in May. All this rain and cloudy weather is what slowed them down I guess.

Anyone catching crappie with ripe eggs still inside them? I would think that most of the females have dropped their eggs by now but then again I am just guessing. I have not been fishing in a few weeks. I don't like fishing in the rain with high winds and cold weather that much.
