    New Albany ramp: 9/18/2008

Went to New Albany ramp today and was waiting for my fishing buddy to arrive.

I had some trash in my truck so I walked over to the garbage can to dispose of it. Then I looked at the parking lot and surrounding area and saw discarded trash all over the lot. Mcdonald wrappers, soft drink containers, plastic water bottles, etc. I spent 15 minutes picking up other idiots trash before my buddy arrived. A-holes.

The government ( us tax payers) spent a lot of money on that river front walkway in an attempt to better the city.

FYI: The lower river level was 10.4 and that was too shallow to launch from New Albany.

Tyme, Chuck and I talk about it every Friday. It never seems to amaze me how completely lazy people are. It takes the same amount of energy to throw something in the garbage can as it does on the ground. Good job on picking stuff up Tyme, I do it sometimes too.

When I'm 100% prepared for a fishing trip I will have an extra trash bag or two with me just for the sole purpose of picking up someone else's garbage. Yea, I guess you could call me a tree huggin' chubminnow...

I do the same when I'm out, fishing, camping,or whatever. It never fails to amaze me at how people just throw their garbage out on the ground (or water)for others to look at and clean up.two days ago coming home from work I was behind an SUV with a woman and her 4 kids that kept throwing their McDonalds garbage out the window and off my car.I wanted to call in,but knew that nobody could or would do anything,so I let the mother know what I thought about it at the only redlight in Falmouth.
I have cleaned the road frontage too numerous times to count on my farm only to have it littered again later the same day,I'd love to stick all that garbage where the sun don't shine in the culprits. It all starts at raising and teaching your children.Lazy, slovenliness breeds the same.
