Dale State Ramp #2

Can anyone tell me the status of the state ramps. Is #2 open?

It's my understanding that they are not allowing us to park our trailers in the lower lot....is this true?

From the water, it looks like #2 is closer to the upper lot? Is this correct?

The new ramp its open, it has its own parking at the ramp, that looks to hold 20 boats plus, the lake is coming up and by the end of this week the old ramp should be totally useable also if they will take down the rope, from past experiece; would indicate that the lake will be held now through the spring....... thats a stretch

The #2 ramp is useable and very good. No courtesy dock but pea gravel to the left of it lets you beach your boat pretty easily just watch out for a few LARGE rocks on the edge or just under water by now. There is room to park about 15 trucks and trailers just above the ramp, provided everyone parks correctly, one guy took up 4 spaces Saturday morning and I bet he had a few choice words said to him by those that put in late. As we took out Saturday afternoon, I did look over at the #1 ramp in the marina and there was plenty of trucks and trailers parked in the lower lot, probably 25 or so. Looks like both ramps are useable and parking is available. The advantage of the new ramp is that it empties on the main lake and you don't have to idle thru the marina to get out to the main lake. By the way, the State Park Marina is not owned by the state anymore it was sold and is now privately owned. I think the same group that owns Eagles Cove and Willow Grove now own the "State Park Marina". Not sure if they plan on changing the name or what but that is what I got from the people that work in the lodge. elnut

You should have seen how the one guy parked Sat morning. He pretty much took it to the top of the hill and instead of parking straight inside the lines of the few marked slots facing the guard rail, he swung it in and took up 4 of these marked slots. They were parked on the grass on the way out up the hill when we left.

I thought Dudley Webb owned State dock. He was awarded the contract. ??
Did he sell it already?

the park sold the rights for a private marina (dock only) to dudley over a year ago no it hasnt resold, it has been out of the states hands for a while, which by the way neither ramp is privately owned, not sure what the word is on the courtsey dock, if u have ever dealt with the core & the state at the same time, this is a main lake ramp will pose an isse with wakes regardless on the no wake bouy, u have the option to use the other ramp an idle for 7-8 minutes through a no wake

no connection to willow grove or eagels cove dock what so ever, at least now

I live near the dock and keep a fishing boat and a live on boat there, IM usually on the dock most every day or so, so anytime I can help just yell, the dockmaster will make fuel available on a advance notice which isnt much help but u never know. I have gotten to know some of you on here and Ill help when i can
