Typing before thinking! After I posted I realized you where probably talking about the first time around.BB1,
I was talking about the first one when they bailed out Wall Street and the banks. I sent an email complaining to him that he jumped on board to quick without knowing the details. I think several guys on here did the same. We all got the same letter back about how this was very important and he Congress needed to act quickly.
Now we found out that they were wrong and all us average folks were right.
Yeah he is stepping up now and I like it but what bothers me is that why didn't he do that in the first one? I know, I know it's politics and he was on board with the rest of the GOP.
Hey I'm kinda short on funds for my next trip to bass pro. Ya think I could get a piece of that stimulus?![]()
I used to help write grants for the State Mental Health Department. Maybe I could give you some pointers on the fine art of showing a need in order to obtain government funds for your trip to Bass Pro. First you enlist the aid of everyone you know who has ever been fishing and give them a form. They report all their losses for things like tournament entry fees, gas, beer, lures, cell phones, pipes, sunglasses, damaged props, lost anchors, dead batteries, worn out trolling motors, lost rods and reels, broken lines, ptsd from threats by unhappy wives/jealous girlfriends, etc. Next form says you have to list the damages you will suffer if these funds are denied; be sure to include withdrawal symptoms such as nightmares of being eaten by a world record smallmouth and hallucinations of winning a tournament. The last forms are for you to show how the county, city, and state will benefit from the use of funds to prevent death by lack of tournament participation. You stand a good chance of getting the funds if you apply for the lifetime Bass Pro treatment. The government likes red tape so the more forms you file the better your chances of getting a fishing grant. The grant money is to be equally divided with those who filled out forms but don't worry, nobody checks to see how you spent the money.
I believe the 2nd amendment lost all of its bite about 100 years ago. It doesn't mean that much anymore when the government has tanks, jets, missiles, nuclear weapons, etc.
I HIGHLY disagree. A well armed rebel group that can easily blend in with the civilian population and is fighting on land they are familiar with has proven to be very effective against larger and more advanced militaries through out history.
Besides, no matter how bad it got I dont see the US Navy shelling Miami, the Airforce carpet bombing Chicago, or a Nuke being dropped on Dallas. That would only help the rebel cause.
Combat would be man on man. You also have to think about the people that run critical infrastructure in this country and how they could be involved with the rebellion. Internal sabotage would be easy and prevailant.
So, no, the 2nd Amendment hasnt lost its bite. But I do wish we still lived in a time when we could order a full auto Thompson from the Sears catalogue and have it shipped to our door.![]()
A lot of what you're saying is predicated on not "seeing" the US Navy shelling Miami, etc. In other words, if the government does decide to do those things, a rag-tag group with small arms has no chance.I HIGHLY disagree. A well armed rebel group that can easily blend in with the civilian population and is fighting on land they are familiar with has proven to be very effective against larger and more advanced militaries through out history.

True but, if it comes to that, I wouldnt want to be on either side.
But, you are ignoring the fact that internal sabatoge would be HUGE in a domestic rebellion.
I dont think anything like this will come close to happening in my life time but we need to protect the laws so cleverly put in place by our founding fathers for a time when a select group of individuals will need to break free from the heard of sheeple and protect this Country, the Constitution, and freedom from anyone that seaks to destroy it!
