Imagine how exciting the UK and UOL game will be! Did I hear right that Patterson was coming back?

Uniforms will change and will be to cool for school, shorts will be touching the ground.
I know some of you UK boys are always ragging on the Tat's, well get ready, it's gonna look like a convention of Tatoo Charlie's immediately so get over it.
Chest pumping and beating and screamimg will be encouraged, so get over it.
Also about every few weeks to a few months there will be some sort of talk about a kid or two in trouble with the law and or not making the grade in school, get over it.
I can go on with things the fans of the Blue Nation are not going to like, but hey winning you wanted and winning you will get it just comes at the cost of CHANGE, LOL, seems to be alot of that going around lately and some of it ain't worth a crap!

All things you mentioned will be fine now that UK is doing it. I've brought these things up to a few Cat fans that bashed Louisville, Tennesse, Memphis........ players for the tats, headbands, questionable character types.... and now I get "that's just the way the game is today", "everyone else is doing it" and so on. PLEEZZZZZ

And why wasn't Cal hired after Tubby was run off in the first place if he was such a great fit at UK? Answer: They didn't want to deal with a lot of the stuff mhall mentioned but a couple of lousy seasons changed that quick.

Do you guys really think all UK fans are the same? I dont care who they bring in to play as long as they come and do what they are they're for on and off the court. I look at tats as a way of speech, its just that some have more to say. I cant say that I've heard any fan, no matter what team, talk about headbands as being a bad thing, that just funny.
My little remark about the cards earlier was just for fun, i was'nt trying to be a smartbutt.
I really think Cal will think twice before he brings the trouble that some of you think will be a common thing at UK. He wouldnt be the first UK coach to have some bad seeds come to play and get into trouble. Sometimes even the good ones go bad.

Skeeter, I don't think all fans are the same. I don't think you are "one of those fans" with a holier than thou attitude. That being said, You stated you have not heard any fans talk about headbands as a bad thing. You need to get out more, read UK message boards (or read UL boards when UK fans are posting on there.) You should talk to UK fans at games when they are playing Louisville. I have heard so many lies about T-Will, Sosa and other Louisville players about their tats. I have also heard and read UK fans spouting garbage about the Tennessee players for wearing their headbands. Not just a few, but a constant barrage.

Read this blog entry buy Matt Jones and then read the UK fan comments below and you will see what I am talking about. This is just a small sample of the attitude that some of us are talking about.

I read a lot of UK message board stuff and when I see dissusicons about who UK should send packing to make room for whoever I get POed. I really, really don't like it. You can say they left because they didn't want to play for him, wouldn't have played anyway or whatever but I'm not buying it.

Most UK fans despised Cal when he was at Memphis and talked about how shaddy he was, how he has never won anything so why all the hype.......... but now he's at UK and all is forgiven. It was a complete 360 with the "he doesn't have to do that kind of stuff now that he's at UK, he's a proven winner.........." and I'm saying this based on personal conversations I had with people while he was at Memphis and after UK hired him.

One thing is for sure and that is he will win at UK but at what co$t.

This is a really a tough comment for me to swallow, about the kids being "sent packing". If you look at MOST major college coaching changes (I am talking about ELITE Programs only now), they often go through the same type of "pains" with there scholarships. I am actually happy to see a few of our guys, who I thought were dead weight anyway, go with the change. I DO wish there was a policy in effect for someone like Porter to get a continuation of his degree monies so they can get the degree we, as a university, promised them. I HATE that some of these kids NEED the scholarships to be able to afford college and they will be taken from them. I don't mind at all that the basketball aspect is being taken from them since we never promised them a shot at the NBA, but they CAN leave and follow that dream. I do TOTALLY disagree with taking someones education away from them, no doubt that that infuriates me to no end, but not basketball.
I AM interested to see which THREE (Meeks, Patterson, Wall) we take them from though. It is going to be odd to see a 4 Star recruit (Liggins rating last year, I believe) have to leave because he is "not good enough", or a good fit whichever you want to say, for this team. It will also be interesting to see how "Coach" gets all these top notch players to gel during the season. I like him, but he is NOT coming from Duke GO CATS!!!!!

I really haven't seen this many kids sent packing from a team (or what ever you want to call it) in all my years of following college basketball and if you can point me in the direction of the info I will gladly read it. Also most kids sign knowing that they aren't going to make it into the NBA and only use the scholly for the education in the first place.

I don't like calling a kid who was pursued by a school, signed a scolarship to play basketball there and gave it his all on and off the court "dead weight". Sure he might not be one of the best players on the team but he made a commitment to the university and they turned their back on him. You picked your favorite out in Porter but what makes him better than the rest other than the fact you like him?

Know what happens after you've been told your not going to get pt, don't fit into the new system....... and you leave to play elsewhere? You have to sit out a year which is very unfair.

    I guess it's all business.

Anyone know why Cal didn't come? Was it money? Was it he wasn't asked?

Don he was passed over for Billy G they didn't want what may have come with Calipari. But just as prowler said, two loosing seasons and an NIT and Satan could have been hired if he brought W's with him.

    Mark,
That's pretty much what I heard but I didn't remember hearing that as an official statement or report. I guess I wasn't paying attention when it was all going on.

Barnyard and his cronies kinda deny this, but everybody in the know says this is what happened. Even Tom Leach say's it......
