Thinking of maybe big word maybe hitting the dead sea after work one day this week with these milder temps.
Questions,, are the hybrids or whites jumping any at all?
Is there any bass bite during the late afternoon at all. I'm all catch and release fellas so if I get lucky and hook one of the twelve bass left in that lake I promise I'll put it back. Thanks for any info guys.

I can't speak on the fishing conditions, but I can on the lake level. I was there all weekend and it seemed like they were drawing it on Saturday. It was pretty shallow at VanBuren on Sunday.
Just called Settlers Trace and they said water was at summer pool and it looked good.

The lake levels and color is just fine...I have fished lately in the morning and in the evening, if I had a choice...it would most definitely be fishing in the morning...The evening bite (for bass) has not been that good at all for me...
Any hybrids or whites in the jumps, or active???
They seem to be everywhere in the morning. Outside edges of the timber lined banks had the most activity. They were in the jumps for what seemed to be a hundred yards.
I was there last thursday, fished past the dam back. Quite a bit of debris past the dam but water was stained but not muddy. I fished from 6:30 pm until dark. Whites started jumping about 8:30 pm until about 9:30 pm then it just died. We caught about 30 but none over 15 inches, fun never the less. Caught a 13 in. Largemouth on texas rigged plastic worm, junebug. Then my wife was fishing with texas rigged worm drifting it behind the boat about 25 yds. Hooked a very nice bass. Looked to be between 4-5 pounds but it wraped her aound a stump and broke off. That would have been her biggest bass ever. Oh well thats fishing. Good luck, jc

I was there this morning. The water seemed just a bit high, but it wasnt muddy. Pretty good clarity for that lake. The whites were busting on top from about 6am-8am. They were not very concentrated. One here one there. Caught quite a few on a small 1/8oz rattle trap. All were under 12". Caught about a dozen large mouths, no keepers.
