PLEASE, Help me open my mind!!!

Hey Folks,

OK, I said I would not continue to fight the anti-muslim sterotyping going on. I have tried to only asked for everyone to keep an open mind.

I have been thinking, maybe I am not keeping one myself, so I am asking everyone's help.

How do we target Muslims? Do we care if they are innocent? Do we just go after the ones we catch going to Mosques? What do we do with them once we catch them?

Really, I am serious... many have called for some anti-Muslim actions, and I am not sure how you would have them work. Can you help me understand your position? Explain to me what you would do, how you would do it, and if the person is completely innocent, then what?

Had another thought that I wanted to add, because I just don't understand how this will work. OK, we target all muslims, innocent and guilty. What about their young children? Toddlers, infants, teenagers? How do we handle them? And don't we then risk raising a whole new generation of people who will grow up to hate America because we confined their innocent parents?

Really, I am trying to get my head around this.... help me understand.

Unless "we" are the Federal Marshalls, FBI, CIA, etc.,"we" don't target them; that is not our job. Leave the Muslims alone and report suspicious activities to the proper authorities. Believe me, Muslim go places and do things beside go to the mosques and say prayers.

Bassin Bug All I want is the Feds CIA FBI feel free to target Muslims that they are suspicious of and not feel threatened to do their job. I do think that a Muslim or some one of mid east descent is more likely to commit a terrorist act than is a grand mother whom is eighty years old or a pilot in uniform going through an airport. I think the Fort Hood gunman got a pass because we were afraid we might look like we targeting the Muslims. I doubt most innocent Muslims would mind if we did our do diligence.

Save me the search and tell how many americans were killed in this country and outside by people of muslim faith. Then do a comparison of the people killed only in this country by people who are non muslim. You will be suprised im sure. I dont agree with anything a muslim does or their faith, but to believe their purpose is solely to eradicate americans is redicolous. Yes the extremist believe this but the kkk want to rid the blacks for a simple comparrison. Another comparrison is if you cant afford healthcare you can simply die and the problem is solved.

I have to say, he is much more elequant than I with his words. Anyway, I decided to take a different tact. I tried to get people to open their minds... seemed they were closed permenantly, so I decided to give those a chance to convince me they were right.

Just to be clear, I actually agree with 'Bug about vigilantes, something you just did too. I find that interesting, considering you are the one who posted about a woman shooting a purse theif in the back, weren't you? You know, the thread about "gun control"? Maybe you are just coming around!!!

You know, Hideffishperson, obviously you are being incredably scarcastic here recently and dont like the conversations we have been having regarding terrorism. But the only input I see from you in running down your fellow countrymen/women to support muslims. Not one word on this board has ever said anything negative about the religious, hard working Muslims that live in the States and are not associated with the radical terrorists. But you seem to assume that is is being discussed. It has only been the concern of these posters of the radical element of Muslims and how they need to be identified and watched by the authorities of your country. No body has even suggested anything else. But you and Corkscrew come here and insult your fellow countrymen by calling them "cowards" so you can protect muslims. Guess what? Muslims dont want or need you to stick up for them but your fellow countrymen would certainly appreciate your support of them. If you were Canadian and insulted me like you do to the good folks of this board I would have kicked your can from here to Afganastan. But you are lucky you are not.
