I'm looking forward to next week as well. Going to Taylorsville for those "little" crappies they got there. Off topic did your TM get to you OK?

Guys-
With the weather warming up here in the next few days, hope to get the boat out on the water and take the father-in-law out for some fishing. Mostly just want to get the boat out and run her for a little bit, but wouldn't mind catching a few fish along the way.
Looking for either bass or crappie, whatever is hitting. Anybody know where we could get into either? We live in BG, so lakes like Barren, Rough, Nolin, etc. Thanks a bunch guys!

Yes it did, thanks for asking. I was a little worried given the great deal I got, and buying it off of Ebay, but the TM was exactly what was listed....brand new, and the specs were right on! I can't wait to use it for the first time this weekend!Good luck on T-Ville. If you don't mind me asking, since I am not an avid winter crappie fisherman (mostly spring and fall), what type of structure do you target in the winter, and what depth generally? Live bait, or plastics? Thanks.

Taking small to medium minnows and will probably drop a jig down tipped with that yellow stinky crappie bait in a jar (forget the name of it, but its in wally world fishin section). Will start looking in the channel out from creeks, will be looking for fish in 18-25 foot water off a bump on the bottom. There is a submirged hill out in the main lake about 1/2 mile from the down from the dam. Water climbs from 45 feet to 6 feet in the middle of the lake so I will look around that hill for fish. The channel, bottom contour and that hill are all marked on my navionics hot maps in the GPS.

Anybody have any info on winter fishing for crappie or bass on Barren, Rough, or Nolin? Thanks.

any of the areas on those three lakes with timber or brush and 15-25 feet of water should be good. I haven't checked water levels, but conoloway is not a bad place to start on Nolin.
I heard Moutardier ramp was used leither ast weekend or week before, just a little ice. Can't be for sure now. I always fished verticle stickups at Taylorsville and did ok. I remember catching a couple dozen years ago on a cold January day 15-20 feet deep 1 mile from settlers trace on way to beech creek.
I would love get out in the spring, Boone. I will give you a shout when the time comes. Thanks.Bone, good to see you posting. Only got out once on the 'fnf" since we meet at DH.....not enought, but greatful for any day on the lake.
