Man you guys need to chill. There's healthy ribbing and then there's, well. I gave some guys on here a little grief when I first showed up then when you realize they have knowledge about sports and passion for their teams you tend to let up off the pedal a bit. If you're getting as bent out of shape as the tone in the posts sometimes reflect - relax - it's just sports.

Still doesn't change my opinion that AS OF RIGHT NOW, U of L is not a tournament team....just as UK wasn't last year....It's college basketball and anybody can make a run...hell look at the SEC tournament the past couple of years...However I have a hard time believing that Lville will beat any of the elite teams in the big east to earn a tournament birth....Samuels is strong inside but he's IT....and as for their guard play...well yea....I'd say its a NIT year for the Cards

There was no more racism at UK then there was at UL,UL recruited a Black Player 4 years ahead of UK,UK that was a member of the SEC where it was threatened to revoke their charter if they played Blacks,and where it was unsafe to travel with a Black player in the South during those times,as far as Adolph Rupp is concerned,there is more evidence that suggests he was not racist than all the gossip you can throw up saying he was.Did you personally know the man? I personally know Joe B. Hall and he says that Rupp was not a racist.Rupp coached Black players on his High School team in Illinois in the 1920's,I'd say that was ahead of his time. I promise I can dig up as many things that show UL was as racist as UK was during that time period,in fact I can show where people in Louisville committed racial violence towards blacks in 1975 when bussing started.
So,about cheating,in the early 50's gambling syndicates from New York paid players from over 50 NCAA teams to shave points and sway game outcomes,3 UK players were involved,not the atheletic dept,not Adolph Rupp,how can you possibly know about this to control it? Kentucky won alot of games that year so it wasn't like they threw a bunch of games. Did you know Frank Maguire at North Carolina had players involved too? The NCAA singled Kentucky out because it was the flagship program at the time,the only other infractions involved Drunk Eddie Sutton who was summarily dismissed,no different than the infractions UL committed if you are honest.
I find it strange that you guys rant about bigotry,but show the same behavior toward fellow citizens of your state.You do realize Louisville is in Kentucky don't you? Sometimes I wonder.

LOL Guess what, I know Joe B. as well. Been a guest on the show with he and Denny on a couple of occasions. Coach Hall is not going to tell you that coach Rupp was a racist, but here are some interesting tidbits:

I was standing in the back of the room, and I looked around at the players. They all kind of ducked their heads. They were embarrassed. This was clearly the type of thing that went over the line." Frank Deford, Sports Illustrated, reporting on Coach Adolph Rupp’s halftime exhortations in the UK Wildcat’s locker room.

"Harry, that son of a bitch is ordering me to get some niggers in here. What am I going to do ? He's the boss." Harry Lancaster, long-time assistant to Rupp, in his book Adolph Rupp As I Knew Him (Lexington Productions, 1979), quoting Rupp on Dr. John Oswald, UK President.

“Once, I was on a flight with Rupp and sat with him in the first-class section. He had about six Kentucky bourbons in less than an hour and was about halfway to the wind. I told him that I was an attorney who represented some basketball players. Now, I had never met the man, and the first significant thing he said to me was, ‘The trouble with the ABA is that there are too many nigger boys in it now.’ I sat there just stunned. That just killed my image of Adolph Rupp the great coach. Maybe it was because he had too much to drink, but even so...” - Loose Balls by Terry Pluto, Simon & Schuster, 1990, pg. 241.

This is the tip of the iceberg. I especially find the quote from Rupp's assistant interesting. Bottom line, Rupp was a racist and a bigot. Everybody in the country knows it, except UK fans.

Are you serious, the same thing? You must be joking, Louisville had minor violations and UK nearly got the death penalty for sending cash to players families, cheating on entrance exams (sounds familiar) and other events. Louisville didn't even get a post season ban! Hardly the same.

Got no problems with that, can't say I disagree with you at all. Samuels has a long way to go but he'll get there.

What I had a problem with was the loserville and all that usual UK fan bs not your opinion on where the team is.

Alright let's get this straight,I donot make things up,nor do I hate the Louisville Cardinals,I did not say anything bad about UL in this thread,just what happened in the game.
My username "kyfanatic" has nothing to do with the University of Kentucky Wildcats,it has everything to do with the State of Kentucky and the outdoors,I love this state and I have travelled all over it with thousands of pictures to prove it. I did attend UK back in the 70's with a scholarship in Engineering ,but was forced to drop out and go to work to support a family.
We all make mistakes and I paid for mine,If I'm such a terrible person then why have I invited TimT and several others on this board to hunt my farm or fish the Licking river with me?
