Hmmm.....Nothing gets folks dander up more than the thought of gun control...not even religion or abortion..... Fellas we have had gun control since everybody reading these post have been around .....I don't think I have ever heard any politician say they wanted to take guns out of the hands of the citizens ...The only debate I have ever been aware of is the kind and type of guns we are allowed to keep ...We haven't been allowed to have machine guns for a long time Most of the debate is about assault weapons and the like It is probably a good thing that we cant have nuclear devices don't you think.

    Re: Right to Bear Arms

I don't even own a gun...not sure why I don't...I just don't. It doesn't mean I don't want to own one...I think up until this certain point in time in my own life it probably didn't make much sense to own a gun, especially considering some of the people who were somewhat a part of my life. But now that they're gone...the idea of owning a gun or two three appeals to me, only for sport only. The only problem is that as things stand now I have to many interests...not sure how to make time for yet another interest that I don't have time for. Those Old Henry Golden Boys sure do look attractive to me though.

They cost $4,300,000 a piece, and it takes 505 gallons of fuel to fill them, that only carries them about 265 Miles pert ank full. They weigh 60.54 tons, so if it breaksdown, don't expect your auto club to tow it in for you. And if you had a bomb, what would you drop it from, a Cessna?

    c. I think Big gills is right......nobody is going to take our guns away. As long as we don't break laws and get them taken from us as as result.
Dang Bob....You got my attention with the M1A1 stuff! I spent 4 years on one back in the 80's. Basic at Ft Knox (Froze my butt off) got to shoot alot of weapons....arghhh arghhh

Gills and Bass, knock it off, thanks.

How does one define an assault rifle? I mean, a 30-06 is a pretty good weapon. That an assault rifle? How about an AR-15? Seems that pretty much anything with a long barrel "could" be an assault rifle.

Also you might look at this to try and get an explanation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault...ssault_weapons

Hey me too! Tanker for 16 years. Started on M60, then M60A1, then M60A1 Rise Passive, then Sheridan M551, the M1, then M1IP, and then M1A1, M1a1 SEP, and was just leave the Army when the A2's became the big kid on the block. What always amazed me was how I could be freezing my butt off, and 2 seconds later when they said the range was hot, and we started done range, how I could have sweat dripping out of my CVC helmet in mere seconds.

Maybe that's my problem now.......too many years of 105 mm and 120 mm concussion! Brain is mashed potatoes and scramble eggs.
