Glad to hear that. Thinking of going up there Friday with dad. Not sure which pit to hit though... Probably will depend on the number of boats already on the water.

I went wed to bluegrass and only caught one crappie. High sun and no wind. hope you have better luck
Well, a day on the water is better than not regardless. I honestly haven't had all that much luck with Crappie up there. I probably just haven't spent enough time on those pits to really figure them out... Between Bluegrass, Loon, and Otter, which do you guys think is the better Crappie pit?
I know the game warren loves to fish otter and loon for crappies. I love blue and otter. never had a lot of luck in loon, alot of small crappie.
If you go to Loon don't launch at the South end where it's shallow and full of coal dust in the muck. I plugged up my water pump the last time I tried to launch there. I remember backing up though the muck and weeds trying to get off the ramp out into deeper water. That just cost me $200 dollars in repair bills.
I have caught some nice crappie on Loon in the spring time. These crappie came out of Loon Pit in April of 2010.

loon has a bunch of slabs
Loon Pit sure looks Fishy to me. I've only caught some big slabs out of there one time. But, I just don't fish Loon very much due to the design of the North Concrete Launch Ramp. If they had some beach area to park the boat I'd use it more often. It's a really nice lake and has lots of variation in the topography and lots of grass and some wood too. There is a forest of small wooden trees that can be found in fairly deep water. 25ft to 15 ft deep. But it's so thick that it's hard to fish unless you go weedless.
There is a lot of grass and I have seen CO fishing the grass areas a lot. Killner likes to catch crappie. He has a LUND boat and is often out there fishing for crappie on his days off.
I would have been out there today but it took me all day long to rewire my boat trailers plug and the trucks matching 4 pin flat plug.
I wasted more time due to the fact that the stupid test plug was not working right. I should have just got my DVM out and used it. I would have found out that I didn't have any problems and been out fishing today by 4 pm. Instead I wasted another 3 or 4 hours running to the stores to find parts for the electricl connections.
Tomorrow I am going for sure ... Hopely! Keeping my fingers crossed that nothing else breaks or screws up between now and then.
I may work on the trailer wiring as I don't like the way I did it. It's too long now and I can't stuff is back into the trailer tongue as the white ground wire needs to be lengthened. It's connected to a screw that's screwed into the trailer tongue metal and the wire is attached with a round ring like connector. This helps to keep the lights grounded for better operation.
