I am seriously considering building or renting a decent sized footprint pole barn/warehouse facility to wash vehicles in during the cold months. It would involve a small eatery, wings, burgers, dogs ect. The usuals to drink including a nice beer menu. no hard liq. Valet would assist you upon arrival, yes she will be in a bikini. The carwash area would be offset with viewing glass. Large blowers would dry your vehicle before you exit the heated venue. All women vehicle techs and Bikini's are mandatory. All tips earned on a legal basis are to the individual that earned them. A base salary would of course also apply.
Building would be heated with state of the art infrared technology.
Yes I'm serious...the up front start up would be less than 150 grand and operating costs would be held low in the interim. My only thought that makes me take serious pause is will it continue to draw enough patrons in the warm months??
Thought.............Gentlemen??
Yea baby...........BUILD it and I will guarantee some business...........I am seriously considering building or renting a decent sized footprint pole barn/warehouse facility to wash vehicles in during the cold months. If you have a chance talk to someone who has a car wash and see what they say. I know the basic ones work because they are in business!
i would think it would work but it has to be a legit attempt at a legit car wash first and maybe the bikini angle second. I think bikini clad women would draw men but you might lose some of the women patrons. Food and drink sounds good which lends itself to a sports bar environment. I have always wondered....with the EPA and gubment folks trying to regulate everything do you think they have any say in what happens to the water on e it has washed oils and coolant off a vehicle?
We had a place in Lexington a few years back that sold motorcycles (Big Dog?) and had a lunch area set aside which was pretty good. They did the basic stuff but it was cool to look around at the bikes and merchandise and then eat lunch. It didnt last but who knows why??
Hope you figure it out!!
Don I never thought of the EPA type stuff and your right that could be a deal breaker. Yes I would make sure it was a good service provided not just a Candy show.
Nice thoughts, most women would hate it, but some wouldn't...![]()

PT's downtown used to have a lunch buffet......if THEY can get away with serving food, I'm sure a car wash could.
BTW.the BUFFET was pretty dang good, and the scenery was even better................
Gives new meaning to Taco Bar

Well, I prefer to buff my own bumper :-)
One other thing to think about. Ven ya surv booze at a place where people come yust temporarily to get their car vashed, a fair portion of those folks would be climbing into their shiney clean car and still have a buzz on. Me thinks some attorneys would have a field day wist dat!
Me thinks you could go at it, with the bikin's and the food, and dat dare carwash, and drop the brewski prjoject, and get a turn-out. Initially. INsidously-dentally. Do da bikini washers do it by hand, or is the car treated to vashing equipment? And in either case, can you get a customer to accept it taking that long to get his car washed just so he can have a brew, burger, and an eyeful?
BUT DEN.........vhy vould me vants to go to a place to eat and get me carwashed, for vhat me dinks would be a huge cost, ven I can drive a dirty car to Hooters, and get the same ding, with less expense?
Yust me dinking aut-laud.
Halter-ternative: Same concept, but the babe comes to my house, washes the car, then chills and grills with me on the back deck. Customer provides the grill, bikini babe shows up and brings the meal I ordered, and brings the booze with her. Dat way, I can invite 3 or 4 friends over and we can share the expense, and the view, and the brew, and the burgers. And, I'm home, so the copis-del-la meanies can't issue my driver's license a get well card.
Yes done by hand. Would not take that long and most would incorporate this into a lunch break or day off scenario. Cost would not be expensive at all, why would it be??
The angle you gave Bob is called an Escort service and most of those are quite illegal.
Also whats the difference in getting your car washed, having a beer and leaving than any other establishment allowing the exact same thing??
Not a lawyer, but think the Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control would see it as a "drive-thru" type of business. JMHO.Yes done by hand. A way to be sure, before you got to deeply invested, would be to do the application for the liquor license, then request a sit down with the them to explain your concept, before they took formal approval/disapproval action on your license request.
And, I would bounce the ideal off a lawyer that deals with or specializes in liability actions. The lawyer visit would also provide info that might help with the Alcohol Control Board, and it would also help you to refine your business plan and operating procedures so that when you went looking for bank loan startup money, you'd have the necessary supporting document ready to go.
All clowning aside, best wishes to make it work.
Got some proposed names for it: Since you mentioned selling Hot Dogs and Beer.
1. The Soapy Weiner (I mean if they can get away with Hooters, why not go for it)
2. Suds and Suds!
3. Shiney Bumpers
Mark I have always thought of doing this. I wanted to do a topless oil change. It is something you have to do every 3,000 miles so might as well enjoy.
