Great thinkers down there in Tenn. Do you think they will send them through 6 months boot camp?

why is it that when the crazy killers, go on a killing rampage, that they choose innocent children or young college students, that have done no harm to the killer in any way. if they are crazy enough to do such a thing, why don't they target the crooked cops, bankers, and politician's that have done harm to them and everyone else, this way it would be of some benefit.

Because crazy people are not rational............

BUT I AGREE....kill evil people, not innocent children and teachers.

Actually.......check that......Don't KILL ANYONE, but yourself...........

I vote NO GUNS in schools. UNLESS, they are carried by a trained law enforcement officer assigned there or a trained, certified Security Guard service.

Putting guns in teachers hands is like teaching doctors to fix their own plumbing.

Teachers ought teach and be trained to spot and report erratic behavior.

Guards provide security, gurads get guns, teachers get chalk and cell phones.

    right on

No teachers are in a stressfull envirement at times. A trained armed security guard would be more constructive, and much cheaper. What teachers would be armed? how many? and how many would actually want to have that responsibility. And why?

Why don't we use the money we give to other nations to build better security at our public schools?

At my elementary/middle school there were three different door locations for going in and out of the school. Each door was at least a inch thick steel. All three locations stayed locked all the time and only one door an outsider could go to, to get in. Had to ring a buzzer and talk to security and they had cameras there to see who was at the door.
But this was at a private school in the late 80's and early 90's.

I attended an elementary school that had one door in the front. There were two classrooms, one for grades 1-3 and one for grades 4-6. The lunch room was in the basement and everyday mothers would take turns preparing the school lunch (yum, yum). There was one kids mother that would make these homemade yeast rolls that I have never seen anything even come close to how good they were. There was one rule at lunch that you had to eat everything on your plate before you could get seconds. I learned to eat (and like) a lot of foods just so I could get another yeast roll. In the warm months they left the front door and the windows wide open.

Ok i have read all i can with out speaking up. I know i will get blasted but so be it.

By nature we are an evil species. (Biblical) Only by God's grace can we overcome some of these urges. Believe it or not that is what this country was founded on. As a nation we have strayed so far morally far from this that we are only reaping what we have sown. The solution is not easy and not quick but until as a nation we get back to the principles of God, Work, and Freedom to participate in both as we each choose all the while respecting each others efforts and quit rewarding those who provide NO positive effort for advancing the masses as a whole, then it AINT gonna get better.

How do we do this? Well as a father i must start with my two sons and teach these principles and bust their behinds when they dont follow them. For every action there MUST be a consequence for my kids. That way when they encounter your child they treat him as they have been taught. For those fathers/mothers/guardians that dont want to conform then quit feeding them with my money. Eventually they will get the message or die out.

Captain John Smith "If you dont work, you dont eat" I interpret that to mean either helps us or leave us.

Go ahead and liberally bleed all over this but you know deep down it is true.
