I do believe we need a way of interrogation that produces more information than just asking, this looks better to me than pulling out fingernails and cutting off ears... I suspect there will always be folks who feel like we need information but disagrees with any means that might be used to get it... It's easy to pass judgement on someone when we ourselves are not saddled with the responsibility of getting the job done.

    California--Drone Request

Many states are looking into this and have been for a while. Some states say that they plan to use them for search and rescue or forest fires. I'm sure they might be used for that sometimes, but does anyone really believe that will be the main usage. Here is a link for a California article.

    Who's morals

Lets get real. If american soldiers hid behind civilians, would al-queda or the talaban not attack regardless of the after math?I find it difficult to find a moral solution, to immoral behavior by an enemy. These are not uniformed legal combatents, they are civilian soldiers. I'd err in favor of our sons and daughters. We prosecuted those marines whp peed on that corpse, the muslim world did not prosecte that mainiac that beheaded that british journalist. Rabid dogs are in many cases killed first, the judged afterwards,Maybe linking muslim extremists is a dis service to dogs, A drone is not unmanned, someone somewhere controls it, those planes that attacked us were also drones in that sense.

Cong did the same thing in Vietnam.

You know.........I don't quite get it......this is EXACTLY how I feel about it, and how many others I know feel about it.

What I don't get is how you can set there, and how others can "like" your comment........YET just a few years ago the very same "mentality" was against everything GWB did trying to fight this "terrorism".

The two faced hypocrites out there with this regard make me sick. War is WAR, no matter who is the freakin president.

Same with the two faced hypocrites when Bush was pursuing drone warfare.

I just wish AMERICANS would get lock step behind whoever and do WHATEVER. Radical Islamic muslims hate us, and will always hate us, and taking the foot off the pedal, and bringing our boys home is not going to stop the hatred.

We need a 50,000 troop footprint in the middle east now and FOREVER........

    Later,

    Geo

    part of me

Going into afganistan and kicking azz was right. Sticking around and tying one arm behind our soldiers was a mistake.Iraq was nothing but an ego trip for GWB. Keeping 50000 troops in the middle east, will eventually lead to a thousand more amputees and ruined lives. 5000 armed drones can reduce and reverse those numbers. Just let them know"allah and the USAF are watching you" Be bad and we'll turn you into a lump of coal.

If we DON'T keep troops there, we will be there again in a decade. Did we not learn anything from Gulf War 1. I don't give two shits if they don't want us there. Korea and Europe bitched and complained publicly they didn't want us there but PRIVATELY they love the fact that American Boys are protecting their flank.

We better get our head out of our AZZ and realize that radical islamic fanaticism is not going away. If you pull out and leave, it will grow. Yea, the middle east has been fighting for a thousand years, or more, but I'd much rather them burn and destroy **** in their land than MY LAND. Just saying.

I don't get how folks don't UNDERSTAND that........Seems pretty simple to me.

As long as we're talking about learning from history - here's a short list of failed Afghanistan occupations:

Persian Empire (6th and 5th century BC)
    Macedonian Empire (4th century BC)
    Huns (5th century AD)
    Muslim Arabs (7th century AD)
    Islamic Turks (10th century AD)
    Mongolian Empire (13th century AD)
British and Russian Empires (19th and 20th century AD)
    USSR (1980s)
And we're next on the list.
