    Ramps fees at Herrington

There are times when you just need to reply to something that nags at you, and ramps fees at Herrington are one of those things. I have a place near Herrington so I panned to fish Herrington being I have retired now, and for the reason I have fished it since I was 6 years old and know it sonewhat. No one really figures that lake out totally. I have notice the ramps are charging $10 now, and by all means they have the right to do so if they so choose. I only wish there could be a public ramp so the people who want to fish can do so without feeling they have been taken. I understand Herrington is a different lake being KU owns the lake...if I understand it right. I'm just saying...I don't plan to fish Herrington now. They can have it, and I hope the people who don't fish enjoy their time on the lake.

Pandora will allow you to launch for an unlimited amount of times for an entire year for $100. I don't think that's too bad of a deal.

I believe Pandora also has a senior discount. I am not a senior but was there when they were talking to someone about it last year.

I am with ya. I will not pay it. I will fish elsewhere. People If you pay 10.00 bucks or a hundred you are paying too much. As long as you keep digging in your wallet to fish the ramp owners will keep right on raising the fees and taking your cash laughing all the way to the bank.Stop going to Herrington and watch the ramp fees come crashing down. They cannot keep raping the public for very long if they stop coming.Just my 2 cents.

Ill travel right on down to cedar. Disappointed at the greed of some ramp owners there.

I could not pay it, but then I would have to travel to Cedar Creek and fight the crowds....no thanks and would cost that much more in gas. Cave Run and Green River Lake are a long haul (2 hrs) and gas and time are money and I'm thinking one must purchase a pass to use facilities. Cumberland is a long way....gas and time again make it a bad choice for avoiding ramp fees. If one launches at the Ky River public access points, good chance vehicle get broken in. I just figure it as a cost of fishing...running a business has lots of overhead and they need to turn a profit in order to survive. They need money for the future. With all the money I've spent on a boat and fishing gear, which is a money I'll never get back, the $100 annual launch fee seems to be pretty cheap to me.
