Good One.
You borrowed $100 and paid back $2, so you still owe $98 which when added together totals the original $100 borrowed. The fact you kept $1 of the change is irrelevant and doesn't get added back into the equation.

you borrowed 50.00 from Dad

and you kept the other 1.00 for your self
now you owe Dad 49.00 and Mother 49.00 thats 98.00 and the 1.00 you kept makes 99.00

Fill the 3 gal jug and pour all of it into the 5 gal jug. This leaves room for 2 more gal in 5 gal jug. Fill 3 gal jug again and top off the 5 gal jug. This will take exactly 2 gal to fill leaving 1 gal. Empty the 5 gal jug and pour the 1 gal from the 3 gal jug into the 5 gal jug. Then fill 3 gal jug and add it to the 1 gal that makes 4 gallons exactly in the 5 gal jug

Jcb, this is a good one, I think I know the answer, but why don't you want it answered, thats the fun in posting them, to see if you can post one that no one can answer. by you asking not to answer, no one will answer it, so it will look like it has everyone stumped. answer them all then if one is left unanswered, we'll know everyone is still trying to figure it out.
