I would bet a trail attorney called him

Cop files law suit because he shot him self. How? Why? where? I'd be ashamed to appear in court if that happened to me, and I know ALL guns are loaded.

Trial not trail
Thats why I like a single action. But a cop should know all guns are loaded. But how or why did a clerk hand someone a loaded weapon? Barren outdoors has been in business for a long time. but I only went there for fishing tackle.
Cop is an IDIOT.......
Clerk is an IDIOT.........
Cop will WIN this lawsuit due to the pure negligence of the Clerk. I only hope the gun store survives after this. No one should lose their business over an accident..........BUT, maybe they should. I wonder how many other guns were/are loaded in that display cabinet.
No telling how many unsafe people wanting to buy a gun walked in there and handled a loaded weapon, not knowing it was loaded.
Hypothetical situation:
What if a woman or man who had never shot a gun walked in there, and got that gun. Racked it, and shot the guy behind the counter. Yea, it is unlikely they would have known how to rack it, but what if?
SCARY SCARY stuff.

There is definitely negligence on the part of the retailer, whomever put the gun in the display case loaded, and the clerk that handed it to a customer without clearing it. Unacceptable. I could have been in there with my 3 year old daughter, buying crankbaits, and got shot because of the negligence.
I'm not one of those "sue you" kind of guys, but if me or one of my family members got shot in that deal, somebody is going to pay for it.
I guess I take for granted that I was brought up, since about 10 years old, that every gun is loaded...no matter what...you clear it...you clear it again...your index finger doesn't enter the trigger guard unless you are ready to pull the trigger...and you don't point the **** thing at anything you don't want to shoot/kill. Drives me up the **** wall when you are in a store and some ******* looking at a shotgun is swinging it around the store pointing it at people. You don't have to do that!
For anyone, much less a cop, to pick it up, point it at their hand, and pull the trigger defies common sense. If I was the cop, I'd be embarassed/ashamed to sue over it. But if I was an innocent bystander that got damaged because of dumbassery, I'd sue somebody.
