Fluorocarbon line Twist! AHH!!

P-Line flouroclear is some good stuff too. It's a copolymer, (spelling), and you get the less visibility of the flouro and similar handling to mono. Give it a try you might like it, I've had good success with it.

Can somebody tell me how to stop fluoro line from twisting some much. I am using 8 pound line on an Abu Garcia Cardinal spinning reel. I have used all different lines from vicious to the new Berkley trilene fluror and it still twists like crazy. I have stretched the line out, used backing on the reel, and even have sprayed the kvd line conditioner on it and it still dont help. this whole year it has been twistin so bad the i have had to peel off alot of the twisted up line while out on the water. I am commited to using fluoro line but i just need it to stop twistin. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Muskie man I agree with how you put the line on your spinning reels plus flipping the bail by hand. I do not use any sprays and I do not notice my fluorocarbon twisting any more than mono. I use seaguar. One more thing you have to be careful with when you are reeling in those muskies and stop reeling when they are taking drag.

I'm not a tackle snob, but the medium/higher end spinning reels are a little less prone to line twist.

When you got a fat girl on pulling drag, never reel. Reeling while the drag's being pulled will twist your line worse than anything.

When you finish a cast and crank it up off the bottom to the boat, it may roll and put a bit of twist in every cast. Depending on what you're throwing slow down at the end of casts.

If you're throwing a small crank and it fouls, crank hard with the rod tip high and skip it across the water back to you instead if letting it roll all the way back.

Nice tips, something I already do, but also something nobody mentioned. Man a fouled bait will flat do some kinking won't it.
