Ranger is by far my favorite bass boat and that is one of the reasons that they are virtually indestructible.

Went fisihing Friday night and (hate to say it) but I left my plug out of my Ranger boat. After putting in we went to the other side of the lake and the bilge pump kicked in and I realized that I had not put the plug in. I started up and headed for the dock and by the time I got across the lake the pump had quit. After it quit I was really kind of puzzled about it. I begin to think may be it was water left in the boat from washing it just could not figure it out. After sitting there for a little bit I would start the pump manually and water would come out for about 20 seconds and quit. Had me puzzled but decided to fish and from time to time I would start the pump and same thing water would come out for about 20 seconds and that was it. Fish for about 4 to 5 hours and when we got out we check the plug to see what was going on and hard to believe but the plug was completley out. Now I know what they are talking about when they say you can`t sink a Ranger. But I still do not understand why the boat did not take on more water.

we did te same thing last year and fished all day long
The plug is made to go back in the drain hole when it is left out so the water leaks around the edges only.
I did the same thing in my Nitro and fished all day....TwiceLike you BRS, I just pumped a little water out from time to time. Not comparing Ranger to Nitro by any means but I wonder if all boats will do that. My plug doesn't stay with the boat either so there is no way it went back in the drain hole...I keep it in the truck. Had someone work on my outboard and they broke the keeper piece off the plug and lost my trailer lock.

Are you guys saying that no water came up through the drains and onto the floor? That doesn't make sense to me?
I was in a Ranger 362V with no plug and had water above my toes while sitting in the driver seat. Just curious....
yall are lucky the water didnt get up over the batteries and they short out or something..... but i wouldnt say u cant sink a ranger cause i am sure someone has done it before.... but as for the water just getting so high in that boat best i can figure is that the water level on the inside of the boat matched the outside of the boat and all that foam in the boat kept the boat afloat.....
No we fished all day last year and never had any water come up in the boat or anywere near the batterys
i was just guessing on that i have left the plug out before too and it didnt get that high but i didnt know if it could or couldnt.... i never took the time to try and sink a ranger... LOL
If you leave the plug out, and get up on pad it will **** all of the water out of the hull.
The plug goes in from the outside and has a keeper on it so it will not pull out of the opening and it is hollow and full of air so it just floats towards the opening. I still wonder why your auto bilge pump stopped working.
