    HP restrictions on Boltz and Bullock Pen

    Hey all, newbie here to the forum, been looking around for awhile and just registered. Anyway does anyone know if there are hp restrictions on the above mentioned lakes? Been wanting to go for awhile but just didn't want to get turned away. Thanks I'll hang up and listen for your answers.

    I got this from the KDWF Boating Regulation

    Section 5. On the following lakes, a person shall not operate a boat motor larger than ten (10) horsepower:

    (1) Beaver Lake, Anderson County;

    (2) Boltz Lake, Grant County;

    (3) Bullock Pen Lake, Grant County;

    (4) Corinth Lake, Grant County;

    (5) Elmer Davis Lake, Owen County;

    (6) Kincaid Lake, Pendleton County;

    (7) Shanty Hollow Lake, Warren County; and

    (8) Swan Lake, Ballard County.

    I was under the impression you could launch a boat and use the outboard to idle if it was over that HP, but you cannot run. You can also load up with your outboard. You just can't run it.

    I had a trip planned to Kincaid a few years ago, and was wondering if I could even put my 18fter w/150 hp motor on the lake. Everyone I had talked to said no...so I called the game warden over that area myself, and I was told exactly what 9Z just said...and whenever I do go to Kincaid and other similarly restricted lakes, I run at idle speed and haven't had any problems yet.

    That is wrong. You can not even start you motor if it is over 9.9 HP. Now do people do it. Yes. But if you get busted you will get a ticket.
    That includes bolts and bullock pen

    I've looked into this because I fish Bullock Pen, Boltz, and Kincaid quite a bit. You aren't supposed to start a motor 10hp or over in these lakes. If your boat is 10hp or over, you can still put the boat in, but can only use the trolling motor.

    Thanks fellas, just got back from Lake Jericho in Henry Co. Caught two crappie several grunt bluegillies. My son landed three sub-slot bass then the monsoon set in, not a bad day but could have done with out the downpour. Thanks again will probably head up that way soon, just run trolling motor.
