Muslim Brotherhood wins in Egypt...........Hard Lined SHARIA LAW......

That is exactly what western interests need in the middle east.

Under Mubarack, the Muslim Brotherhood was banned. NOW they have power. The Muslim brotherhood have already stated they will rewrite peace treaties with Israel.

I wonder what is going to happen next.

SCARY SCARY for this part of the world.

Not the person we'd like to see elected, but at this point, the presidency is largely a figurehead, and what's really important is the fact that they actually held free and open elections (although there seem to have been violations by both sides). The military still holds all the power, and has said they won't relinquish any of it until a new parliament is elected. By the time that happens, they could even change presidents again. It's not like he won by a landslide. I don't mean to downplay it too much, but I think your "Hard Lined SHARIA LAW" statement is a little misleading. It's not like his election means we're going to see that implemented overnight; far from it. The Arab Spring is still alive and well in Egypt.

Since the Muslim brotherhood is sponsored by extreme imams, I suspect, hard core Sharia law, is coming. That part of the world really scares me.

I don't know what to make of it, but I've always said the hard core military dictators there were evil, and I hated them, but they were our evil hated dictators.

I don't think we will have any influence or control over that area in the very near future. Not that we need to control the area, but face it......it is a very strategic area for the United States.

I'm really worried that they control the suez canal and that is a very strategic issue for us.

Yes, of course it's a very scary region. I'm glad to see you have a firm grip on the obvious I really do think it's premature to assume that hardcore Sharia law is coming to Egypt, but we'll see what happens once they vote for their parliament.

Whether hardcore Sharia Law comes to pass or not, a Muslim Brotherhood leader running Egypt does not bode well for easing any tension with Israel. And what happens when Iran and Egypt start talking, buddying up, and Israel starts feeling backed into a corner?

Worst case scenario of a royal rumble tag-team battle supreme could play out between an Egypt-Iran duo, and an Israel-US duo down the road. Talk about a bloodbath..

There is nothing good about it.

I seem to remember the LAST time radicals tried to force Israel's hands. Me thinks Israel kicked some ASS.....

I REALLY care about the area because of the strategic importance, and our alliance with Israel. The current administration has turned their back on Israel, and by doing so, I believe they've given the Opposition there plenty of reasons to "test the water" so to speak.

I only hope we have a president with a SPINE when we actually have to SUPPORT our Israeli friends.

Well...we already know Nobama is spineless. As for Romney...I don't think he has much of a spine either...as far as I know all he has is a thick wallet. I dislike Nobama...I feel like Romney is way out of touch with the common folk of America and I also feel Romney cannot be trusted as far as he can be thrown.

I guess I'm thinking it's gonna be awhile before we see a President with some nads.

How so? If I am not mistaken, he has ordered more drone strikes against Al Quada targets than the last guy. Also taken the fight to other places in the mid east.

He picks and chooses the EASY ROUTE.

The drone strikes are a no brainer.....and very easy to justify. The really big issues......He's chickened out on.

To expand on Geo's "easy route" terminology. Gay marriage...How come Nobama caved in and said he supports Gay Marriage?

What he should have said to his own children about Gay Marriage is: "Yes kids, I understand some of your friends in school have same sex parents, but it's not right." Instead, Nobama caves in, takes the easy road (spineless) and seeks to gain more votes by saying: "Yes, Michele and I both support gay marriage." Just another example that show's us that he's in this for himself and NOT the country, which holds true for the majority of politicians these days it seems.

What an idiot...I already know the damage Nobama can do, it worries the day lights out of me to wonder how bad things will get with him again or Romney either one.

    Lord help us...

    Geo
Two thoughts on drone strike first we gather no intelligence with drone strikes and where is the liberal left that was screaming that water boarding a lowlife terrorist to save american lives is absolutely terrible but the President making out a kill list is fine even though innocent people are killed in the attack and this is the President that went on an apology tour for what we have done in the past, this is absurd.
