If gas was mandated to be sold at no more than $1.50 a gallon, wouldn't it mean that: (I know impossible but....)
1. People would have more money to spend on other stuff, adding fuel to the economy as more goods might be bought.
2. When goods are bought, more state sales taxes are paid, so states would get more from consumers and need less from the fed budget. Manufacturers would earn more, profit more, and so pay more into fed and state taxes helping both levels with more income to reduce deficits.
3. People would travel more, and so add more miles to their car, so it would get old faster, and they'd buy a new one sooner that would probably be more efficient, ergo, less gas used, and more environmentally friendly.
4. Why not encourage folks to use more gas, and drive since we mandate low emmission fuels and the govt also sets better, cleaner auto pollution standards all the time. When people drive, they put money in the economy.
I just don't get the Obama thought that higher gas prices will force us all to buy ecologically friendly cars. When was the last time you saw a plumber, carpenter, painter, HVAC, or electric repairman show up in a Chevy Volt 1/2 Pickup Truck or Van? When was the last time you saw someone towing a boat with a Prius?
Hey Obama.....does Caterpillar offer a
hybrid bulldozer??????? Ya think that might slow construction down a bit?
I mean really, based on horsepower and torque, I'd need 4 Prius's to tow my boat all harnessed up as a pull team. :-)
How long before Obama mandates HYBRID OUTBOARD engines, part internal combustion and part trolling motor.
