Imagine that. Liberals upset about their taxes being increased.

I heard on the radio that Boehner has been shocked in his meetings with the President. It is said that Mr. Obama insists the government does not have a spending problem, it has a revenue problem. In other words, he believes he can tax the government back to solvency.

If that is true, we are in deeper trouble than anyone can imagine.

That's part of his problem. He really in his heart believes we all live to good and that paying for our sins of living well is what we should do. Biden talked years ago about being part of the solution and stepping up to be an American or some junk. Regardless, strap in folks this idiot is going to do everything he can to raise taxes where he can and at some point the Dem party should stand up and stop the idiot if they want a chance next election.
Our national debt isn't a spending problem....got it! So if I tell that to VISA think they will tell me it's ok? Oh your right Mr. Dasher it's not your fault you spend more than you bring in. We will just credit you what you can't pay and will just get others to pay your bill when it seems unfair. Idiot!

I don't know Don, we may too far gone. There is a huge built in vote for the Dems, all those millions getting government assistance ain't about to vote against them. I'm not saying a lot of people don't need it, but the sense of entitlement by a lot who don't is at all time high levels.

I'm not giving up, but I'm pretty discouraged. We'll see what happens when people of all walks of life have to pay a lot more in taxes to support the government, maybe it'll turn around.

Make no mistake, the supposed rich don't have enough to pay for all the reckless spending and debt, so sooner or later the rest of us will have to fork out a lot more. When the working class die hard Dems start paying the tab, things could change.

I agree Jim things are swinging Left and have been for years....Isn't it ironic that even though Conservatives from all walks of life or titles have been trying to point this out (some are guilty of spending to much as well) that we have to HOPE the CHANGE in America comes from liberals who actually start feeling the pain from their party's decisions? I'm sure millions have no idea of what they voted for. They get caught up in hate the GOP and their push for responsibility and lower gubment. The fact that more tax is being taken and more to come could swing the people's minds. Lets hope.

    nobahma and my check

Yes my pension check suffered a 2% that was a raise in insurace. Hurts just the same. As far as taxes, ANYONE who thinks you can balance a budget buy just cutting expenses, give it some thought. I could cut utility bills, use low watt bulbs, wear extra clothes, cook far less, limit vechicle use to only neccesary trips.Cut my cell phone usage, and a few things also. At the end of the month, I'd have a few bucks left. But then thinking I'm going to be doing this for a couple of years to pay for past expenditures, I'd hop into the truck, go down to the liquor store, and buy a gallon of pretty good booze. Because I know that as soon as I amass the cash, I'm going to need to spend a pile to protect it. Great way to live eh? Two constants Death and Taxes.Dont believe it, read the first few lines of Luke regarding Jesus.

    That is utter horse ****........

I have two kids in college and the extra expenses associated with that were not "budgeted".

    * I cut my fishing trips back by 1/2
    * I cut my eating out at work from every day to only friday ( brownbag every other day now)
    * I cut my vehicle usage down by working from home 2 days (40% savings on fuel)
    * I cut my family budget for eating out from 3 days a week to 1 day a week.
    * I cut my visits to BPS to purchase fishing stuff significantly back.

To say you cannot cut back to save money simply means you're either over budgeted, which happens to a lot, or you have ZERO self control and ability to make cuts when necessary.

By doing the cuts above, I'm essentially guaranteeing my daughters will not be carrying debt into their future. Promises I made to them years ago.

Oh yea........I will be doing the above for at least 4 more years.

Ah come on man. Your trying to justify your liberal feelings by giving up and saying you can't live on less. The gubment could cut alot of pork and programs and head in the proper direction but they choose not to. It's easier to get more and spend more than it is to cut back and spend less.

It seems only people with jobs are the ones hurting and cutting back.

    been there geo

Now the hell do you imagined the fact that I also sent two kids to college, and paid for parochial education for 8 yrs for each of them?In many cases three jobs at a time, taking the bus to work so that the wife could use the only used car we had. We didn't have food stamps, free lunch programs. BUT we had an area where jobs were available, at decent wages. My wife wanted to work, but knew it was better to be a mother, not an extra wage earner. You guys say the country is going to hell! its been there, and in my opinion is not coming back.
