Guys I have no dogs in this hunt, but you should know people have gone to jail for falsely reporting the value of an automobile for tax purposes. Normally it is someone that works in the government office that sends the property tax bills that falsely reported or manipulated the value of the vehicle to save themselves or a friend money. That is when the government puts a hurting on them big time. When the value of the vehicle is falsely reported, technically it is tax evasion and theft. That being said, probably nothing would come of it unless they decided to make an example of you. Basically it is fear that causes people to file income tax returns and pay taxes. Is it worth the risk?
