--Exactly which civil rights are homosexuals deprived of? How are they treated differently than the rest of us?
I would call the right to marry a civil right. In most states they still can't do that, and in those where they can, it's only because of "legislated respect."
"If a conservative is down-and-out, he tries to better his situation.
A liberal wants to know who is going to fix it for him."
-I would rephrase this to "Conservative politicians want down-and-out people to fend for themselves or starve, whereas liberals are willing to offer them some help."
--Liberal talking points are just plain wrong here. Conservatives are far more generous than liberals. Next time you're down and out, instead of approaching a Christian church which is no doubt infested with hard hearted conservatives, give one of the liberal satanist outfits a buzz. Let me know how that works out for you.
"Liberal satanists???" Where did THAT come from? There's a lunatic fringe on both sides.
"If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Liberals want to silence those they don't like, or with whom they disagree."
-I don't know how you can post this with a straight face, especially when you're talking about "talk show hosts" in particular. The only talk about "silencing" talk show hosts that I recall was about Ellen DeGeneres and Rosie O'Donnell, because of them being lesbian, and it sure as hell wasn't coming from the left!
-- As evidenced by the rest of your replies to this thread, your recall is poor. The reason Rosie and Ellen aren't on the air is bad ratings...nobody watched. Rosie's mean spirited big mouth got her canned not her sexual orientation. That and the fact that she'd make you throw up quicker than sticking a finger down your throat.
Ellen IS still on the air, and still getting great ratings. I agree about Rosie making y9u want to puke, but your response misses the point. I still maintain that the desire to silence those with whom they disagree is a characteristic more of conservatives than liberals.
"If a conservative needs health insurance he shops for it, or looks for a job that will provide it.
A liberal demands that the rest of us provide for it."
-Now THIS lie I do find just a little offensive. When I didn't have health insurance, I paid for what little medical care I received out of my own pocket. Mostly, I just did without. Then I went and did what you say only conservatives do; I went and got a job that provided it.
--Okay, so you're an exceptional liberal. If this is a lie, please explain the actions of the current presidential administration.
I wasn't talking about the actions of this or any other presidential administration, or about politicians at all, but about the actions of conservatives and liberals in the general populace. Isn't that the subject of this thread? And I really don't think my actions are all that exceptional.
