Really! You are as full of stuffing as a Christmas turkey. I have a problem understanding how you know so much about it when you weren't there listening to the conference calls and discussions about the problems. How long has it been since you worked and, if you are still employed, does that give you some sort of magic powers to know about EVERY union job in the nation? Have you ever heard of the word 'sabotage'...that's all I'll say on that topic other than it frequently happens.

I don't fight unions and am not ignorant about them. I have been a member of OPEIU for many years. Just in case there was something you overlooked while you became a "union expert," thats the Office and Professional Employees International Union (AFL/CIO). It's for White Collar workers which ALSO includes doctors, nurses, etc.

I worked for over 40 years, a lot of jobs, different companys, some were not union. The one thing I do know is that if you work hard,do what ever job you have as best you can, youre probably going to come out alright.Union workers get the bad rap that they make inferior products, Bull! The UAW didn't design the Pinto, the corvair, the edsel, the car companys did.The unions didn't kill the american steel industry, poor corporate practise did,As a steel worker I saw first hand some of that stuff, the company I worked for got a government contract for steel to be shipped to Pakistan, most of it was galvanized, and then corragated. That company sent scrap metal, almost no quality control when the inspectors complained, they were told to shut up, its your tax money,it was simply a waste of time and metal. They also got a contract to supply Subarhu, the car company, we had one of the newest galvanizing mills in the mid west,Again, inspectors complained about poor quality, no one listened. Tons of pretty good stuff was shipped. and tons were returned, didn't match the quality agreed upon. Why did this happen, poor workers? No management saw a chance to make big profits, and it didn't work.Later I worked in the chemical industry, our company was mostly non union, our small plant was, the non union plants got better benefits, and better pay in some cases. But they started to cut corners on union maintainence work. Just one bad on an electrical circuit, and a million plus turbine turned into scrap. I watched yahoos welding high pressure stainless pipe, that couldnt pass a quarter of desigtfn strenght, when we hydo tested it, it mad a nice garden sprinkler, the money they saved cost them almost four times what they spent to repair it.This was pointed out to the management at various times, and ignored. Sabotage, yep there was sabatage with the corporation. killed about 1000 people, not here, ever hear of that plant in india. that killed more indians than custer? yep I worked for them.

Do you mean you voted for Obama because he was Black, or did you vote for him because of his qualifications? Well he doesn't have any qualifications and he's just as white as he is black. Why play the race card when nobody mentioned race on this thread?

It's true the republicans didn't have much to offer but I believe the party would have kept his liberal bias in check and we would have had a president that is more on center. Right now with this administration we are heading this country so far left that democracy is doomed to fail. I'm not just talking about Obama, its Harry Reid , Nancy Pelosi, and Chuck Shumer and a bunch of goofs in the cabinet calling the shots. I'm sure that a more conservative cabinet and the current republicans in congress it would have been a good administration. Right now its just everyone hoping that the country can survive this administration until the next election.

You know what? There may not be a solution. Maybe we have run our course. Weve been the worlds policeman now for about 50 years.Has it really helped? Was there ever a utopia?Seems the laws of physics also is aligned with human nature, for every action, there is a reaction.I'm sorry guys,us golden agers lived in the best of times, our time has past.I did what every parent trys to do, make it better for my off springs, old values just dont seem to work anymore. It seems that all I do is complain, and nit pick, it helps me, and get some of you mad as heck, since I dont have anymore pearls of wisdom to pass along, I'm going to [SHUT UP].

Do you know what they call a doctor who graduates almost at the bottom of his class? They still call him a doctor.

I'd still take Hillary over Nobama...I'd much rather of had someone who graduated at the bottom of their class (assuming this is true, but I don't know for sure) running this country than I had someone with NO experience other than being a community leader and with free reign to spend, spend, spend as if there was a money tree outside his window.

Heck, don't give up now. Keep on fighting the good fight in trying to make the world a better place....that's what we're all supposed to be doing. I do agree with you though on the part about the golden ager's who lived in the best of times, back when there was anywhere from no channels to three channels on the television, back when everyone drove a Chevy, Chrysler or Ford, back when the majority of women stayed home. Not sure what you're golden age is but my dad who recently passed away at the age of 83 told me I'm in my golden years right now and don't realize it (49).

I would say graduating at the bottom of the class at the Naval Academy is about the equivalent to graduating at the top of the class at UK, U of L or most of our in state schools.

Care to explain this, because it's said often on his board and really the only thing I can think of that this administration has put into place that would even be remotley considered "far left" is the Healthcare bill.

Now if you consider Bush's policies as being "far left" then I guess we could agree because Obama has continued many, many of his policies much to the dismay of those on the left.
